Forget The Politics

Do we even remember

What this country

Was truly founded upon?

When liberty and justice

For all was more than

Just words in a pledge

Or lyrics in a song?

The division

How traumatic

How chaotic

It has become

A nation that

May have lost

Its identity

And its morals

Upon which democracy

Was born from

Democrat or Republican

Our opinions must

Be put aside

For there is only

A created division

Amongst us

We must stop picking sides

Join a new party

One that truly cares

Not about

Whether your skin tone

Is dark or fair

Or the clothes you wear

But rather

What matters most

Serving others

Being humble

Showing by example

That being human

Is something

We all undoubtedly

Share

Forget the politics

It’s time to finally reunite

In a country with so much hate

We have to choose love

Instead of being right

United

We most definitely do stand

Divided

We certainly shall fall

In this time of uncertainty

Us Americans must

Answer the call

The call to action

And to renew

Learning to

Let go of the past,

Forgive others,

Agree to disagree

And love

Unconditionally

To once again represent

The red white and blue
