Thankful

The older I get

The more I realize

It's the people in the home

Rather than its size

The intangibles, not the things

That are truly the prize

Today

I'm thankful

For all the highs and the lows

The mistakes I've made

The triumphs I've had

The mentors that helped me

Along the way

They've all pushed me to grow

In more ways than I could

Begin to comprehend or know

Gratitude

Is a choice

With conflicting

Thoughts in your head

It's necessary to choose

That thankful voice

Although easier said than done

You are living the dream of someone

The fact that you can read this now

Means that you have already won

I hope they all know

How much it means to me

When we share time together

Even if it's just shooting the breeze

Like that summer

We hit Studio 3 every weekend

It was 7 years ago

But we are still the best of friends

And how about the times

We've gone out for a boat tour?

More great memories

I'll remember for sure

Golfing at Jamestown

Playing like we're in the PGA

No matter how many balls we lost

It didn't matter because

We still had ourselves a day

My brother

From another mother

You and your family

Have shown me

The definition of grace

Each and every time

We're together

I get the biggest

Smile on my face

And that wedding

Out on Goat Island

I still get teary eyed

Thinking of him

Walking down that aisle

To my family -

We aren't perfect

But we've rekindled

Our bond tenfold

All those holidays,

Birthdays and parties

Make me thankful it's

With you all that I get to

Grow old

I'm especially grateful

For such an amazing twin

She is a rock steady human

Of which describing her strength

I cannot even begin

Mom - you are

A beacon of light

And positivity

The most wonderful part is

Your kindness shows

In humility and anonymity

I couldn't forget to mention

My selfless older brother

Invaluable lessons I've learned from him

There could never truly be another

What a blessing

It is to have

Another family addition

A beautiful niece

Who's parents

Will undoubtedly

Make her extraordinary life
